Well, iv been back a day now, iv had 3 hours sleep, I have work in the morning so i may aswell get this out the way cos somethings tellin me im not going to have time to do it tomorrow :good:

Well, we arrived at 7:15pm local time, it was that hot when we stepped out! how wrong was i the following day...some might say it was SCORCHIO!!!!!! tempretures in their 30's every day! Love it!!

Most of the week was spent swimming, reading, drinking, pretty lady spotting (Shhhh dont tell the misses!!!) eating and having fun whilst not thinking about work one bit!!

Friday we were due to go scuba diving, as we arrived at the British run diving centre they said that discover scuba diving session had to be cancelled as the day was quite windy and the waves were stiring up the sand on the bottom of the sea too much. We then arranged it for Monday, a day before our flight back. I though that it was going to be a repeat performance but it wasnt. It was brilliant!!

The diving centre is PADI approved 5*, they took us in for an introduction video which took us through most of it, then we got gear up, and took the walk down to the beach (YES WITH ALL THE HEAVEY BLOODY EQUIPMENT ON AND IN BOILING HEAT!!!), got in the sea and we done some orientation just going through all the bits, how to clear goggles incase of water leak, how to equalise your body after the water pressure build, regulator procedures and BCD procedures. Then we deflated the BCD and down we went!!

As it was our first dive we could only go down to a max of 6m, but this was more than enough for the first dive, we seen some barracuda and scorpion fish, we went down to the rock on the bottom, the instructor then tapped on a rock with another rock, all of a sudden loads of fish were surrounding us! it was awsome.

I now have a card and a certificate which says iv done the Discover Scuba Diving session (PADI) so next time i can dive from a boat if i want down to a depth of 20m.

Anyone who hasnt tried it! go for it!!! its awsome!!

Anyway, enough raving, some pictures below!

I'm glad you had a great time and how lucky you were to get a pretty girl to pose with you for the photograph, how much did you pay her ?:good:

You want to keep up the scuba diving.

My eldest daughter has gone through all her certificates and they plan their holidays around scuba diving.

She has said that the best place they have been so far is the Red Sea, but they are off to the Maldives later this year so that may be even better.

We went to the Maldives in 2000 to an island called Kommandoo the last leg was via an old twin engine seaplane that took forever to take off. Mrs D2D and I did our Padi course, never been to the red sea, but to say the Maldives were spectacular would be an understatement, our island was totally unspoilt with only 100 or so beachside huts, real Robinson Cruso stuff with so many colourful tropical fish the mind boggled, the coral however is dying and is not reforming, so many of the reefs will become barren and fishless. The Maldivians were one of the friendliest people we have come across and nothing was too much trouble, they really appreciated us visiting. IMO its got to be one of the best tropical get away from it all destinations with their "No news, no shoes" attitude to life.

 D2D
