keeper96
Hi guys, im looking at ordering a Howa .223 varmint with a 24 inch barrel. it will be used for shooting in practical optic competitions and targets out to 6/800 with 600 being the usual maximum distance. Im ideally wanting to shoot 69gr bullets but I’m struggling to find out the twist rates to see if they will handle the 69’s. Im right in thinking that 1-9” is the ideal for these? TriBsa
Highland Outdoors are the distributors and they list both 1-8" and 1-9" for the two 24" varmint barreled actions in 223. http://www.highlandoutdoors.co.uk/Varmint-Barrelled-Actions/ Might be worth checking with them, because the only difference seems to be screw cut for a moderator on the 1-8". Cheers Keeper go 1:8 and run 77TMK, they have a much higher BC for your long range days and are frangible for vermin, also if needed the 1:8 will stabilise the lighter bullets. Maxwell.
