RockySpears
Anyone here live in France? If I have land in France and have French authority to shoot over it, can I use that land/authority to justify a gun purchase in the UK to be used solely on that land in France? I do not have French residency so cannot keep guns there for extended periods. Thank you, RS
Benthejockey
Good reason to acquire X caliber would be to shoot in france. Same as going driven boar shooting on the continent or shooting buffalo in Africa. There would be a fair few guns in this country try that are owned and used purely abroad. Jaymo
https://www.the-forest-time.com/en/hunting-law https://www.french-property.com/guides/france/property-rights/rights-of-way/shooting-rights These two pieces should give a little insight, note the requirement for a ‘Permit du chasse’ which is your hunting licence ( if your a visitor you can apply for a temp version) which to gain requires a written multi choice exam and a practical exam. With out the licence you cannot shoot any live animal- not even what we would consider vermin. You cannot shoot in your own garden due to the boundary limits, unless you have say a, smallholding There are of course ways round it 🙂 Once you have a licence and of course a property in France, then purchasing shotguns and rifles is incredibly easy ( ps, licence fee is annual and you have to pay to see a doc each year too) Sorry it’s a speedy reply but trying to get ready for the school run 😞
