Teal
I was in normandy last week. At low tide I saw a couple of the locals go out with what can only be described as 'clam guns' hollow tubes you pushed into the group above a hole with a hand plunger to suck up and then expell the critter you have sucked up be it razorclam, lugworm or razorfish. Does anyone know if you can purchase these in the UK, they looked very efficient. Probably very easy to make, has anyone done this?

JDFrain
get the fork out mate, bloody hard work in my opinion, tend to find you can only use them on certain ground, soft sloppy sand. and also when using them on worms you quite often miss them and its surprising how fast they can move. john
Cranfield
Don't buy a cheap bait pump, they break the worms up. Alvey bait pumps are the best, much easier than digging....been there, done that.
jerico
Some here As others have said they only work on certain types of ground, they are no good for rag either as it splits them.
codling99
with clams, you got to just pump the sand a couple of inches of the top of him ,then get ya hand in there to find him, carefull mind ,cos ive split me fingers open a few times on razor shells in the sand. JDFrain
just back from a quick trip over the west coast of scotland, dug some bait while there thought you would like to see these bad boys, worse than a ferret bite.... john (my mate cockney dave in the picture)
