CaptC
Jockey hand winch complete with the two extra strops. Works very well and is easy to use. This one has been in it's box and looks unused (box was tatty so in the recycle bin) Horrendously expensive to buy new (upwards of £200) Selling this one for £60 including postage The photo is a stock photo - Mine is red! Not sure if this is a 300 kg or 500 kg so selling as a 300 kg The JOCKEY machine is a hand-operated lifting and pulling machine. It is versatile, portable and multipurpose, not only for pulling and lifting but also for lowering, tensioning and guying. The originality of the TIRFOR machine is the principle of operation directly on the wire rope which passes through the mechanism rather than being reeled onto a drum of a hoist or conventional winch. The pull is applied by means of two pairs of self energised jaws which exert a grip on the wire rope in proportion to the load being lifted or pulled. A telescopic operating lever fitted to either the forward or the reverse lever transmits the effort to the jaw mechanism to give forward or reverse movement of the wire rope. Ultra-lightweight and robust, easy to operate and maintain, can be used in numerous applications. Jockey™ winches are portable manual hoists with maxiflex wire rope. They are light-weight and easy to carry. The winch can be installed quickly and is therefore suitable for occasional use; it is operated by a lever. Option: the load capacity of the device can be increased with sheave blocks. SOLD WITH THANKS Edited August 3, 2019 by CaptC

London Best
I bought one on special offer at the 1979 boat show, £19.95 I believe I paid! Absolutely brilliant piece of kit. Mine has removed/refitted several Land Rover engines, winched boats, and once extracted my Range Rover bellied in snow.

John_R
I don't think I would risk a 4x4 recovery with a 300 kilo one but those other tasks etc are all on the cards and more. Another cracking tool is the Maasdam rope puller but they cost so much especially over here.
London Best
It was needs must with the recovery, and I did shear the handle (safety overload feature), but it put just enough tension on the line to allow me to reverse out of my predicament!
