B725 Posted August 20, 2019 Report Share Posted August 20, 2019 I wonder what our American cousin's think about the English way of shooting and how they work their dog's as they seem polor opposites to the way we do it. We are happy to shoot small to medium bag's while working our dog's but all the American video's I've watched the seem to shoot very large number's as the norn. Theres a fair few yanks on the gundog training forum. They often say how our dogs (spaniels) hunt too close. They hunt big areas of terrain and I think a lot of areas are wild birds only, so their logic is if the dog isn’t a good distance either side then you may miss game, or which there isn’t a whole lot to begin with.
