figgy
Just watched the AEAC YouTube video tour of the JSB factory. The amount of manual labour especially in sorting was a surprise. Cleaning is put a a load of them on a soft cloth fold the cloth and grip each end tip them side to side. They also add antimony to their mix so not just pure soft lead At the end of the video the MD Pavel Says that there are no special dies for any other companies. They just do runs accross the same machine for that company in batches. So all this Air Arms have their own dies is rubbish, the factory will use certain dies number machine to do a run for them for consistency same with FX and Daystate etc. Good little shot of a board with the pellets labels stuck on. Talk of new design dies for slugs being delivered to try and beat all the rest. Well worth a watch. Edited December 4, 2019 by figgy

Hamster
Watched it on fast forward but I couldn’t believe how they load individual tins by hand !
figgy
Seems odd in this day and age to still sort and load by hand. 40 women on QC Computer controlled machines can spot a bad pellet as they pass and blow it off the line. Maybe costs of re-tooling the place is too high. I guess the sorted match pellets are truly Hans sorted. The H&N factory tour he does is another good watch. German efficiency.
