young airgunner
hi there. went down to our shoot last nite to feed and water the birds, have been doing so all week. been noticing a fair amount of bunnies about. sadly also saw some with mixy. went down in my brothers car with me in the passenger seat with the .22 bsa ultra. as we were driving, we could see large numbers of rabbits just ********* off into the bushes. we carried on a little further until we came to a concreted area surrounded by bushes. suddenly a rabbit burst across the track in front of the car and into the bush. the bunny thought he was hidden but i could clearly see him from the other side of the bush.my brother stopped the car, i quietly opened the door, rested on the door and squeezed of the trigger. smack right in the head from about 30 yards, nice little backflip and one dead bunny. this was the first time my brother had been out hunting as he is not really interested in it but as soon as i picked the bunny up and shown him whats what, he started to seem interested in the whole event. i said to him that we would get his first bunny, so i we changed roles and i was driving and brother had the gun. drove right down to the end of the land, seeing many rabbits but ********* off as soon as they saw the car. bad luck i thought so we turned round and headed back to the entrance. we decided we would take the same approach on the way back as the ones we scared earlier may be back out. as we was nearing the entrance to the shoot, my brother whispered, "stop, i see one". i brought the car to a halt, brother carefully got out and took to one knee. just through a small gap in a hedge, my brother culd see a 3/4 size bunny. as he had never really shot an airgun before, i told him where to aim at the certain distance. he carefully held his balance, kept his cool and squeezed the trigger. BAM, another bunny for the bag and my brothers very first quarry. he was certainly very chuffed and i was pleased for him. went over, picked it up and took back to the car. the bunny had very early stages of mixy so it was better to give him the swift ending rather than letting him suffer. all in all it was a great evening and nice to be able to introduce my brother into the world of shooting haha. he is even on about getting an airgun . heres some pics for you all. james my bunny brothers bunny our bag
