tuck1
Hi Can anyone give me some help. I have tried to pay some money to a pigeonwatch member, and at his end it is saying that it is an Echeck and it will take 7-9 days to clear. Is this right? I have used Paypal for this type of thing in the past, with no probs, and buy and sell on Ebay now and then. Is it the case that I have clicked the wrong button somewhere, or has something changed? I thought Paypal was instant? Am starting to wish I had sent a cheque, poor lad would still have got his money quicker! Any suggestions gratefully received. Thanks Tuck
steve_b_wales
I have used paypal many times to pay for goods both here and in the U.K. The longest it has taken is 3 working days. don't know where 7-9 days came from.

FBF
sounds like you didnt have enough funds in paypal and took the money from a bank account. that normally takes 7-9 days

tulkyuk
dont worry tuck, paypal for some reason only known to them. take 10 days to clear an E check. I'd say the reason bieng that if thy do this they get to keep a certain amount of cash in the bank at all times to gain the interest - ie take cash off you today but pay out somebody tommorow and they do this with every one they will all ways have money in the bank
tuck1
^ Maybe that's the answer. Or I clicked the wrong thing. Or I didnt change my card details. I'm a Paypal failure..... The problem I have now is that it won't let me do anything until the payment is accepted or failed. Ho hum. Guess I'll just sit around and drum my fingers on the table then.... I spy with my little eye...
tuck1
Well finally, 10 days later the payment has cleared. I still have no idea what I did which was different to the 150 + transactions I have made in the past without a hitch. Anyway, big cheer to Tulkyuk who has been extremely patient and accommodating. And apologies to Mosa who held a book for several days for me while I tried to sort the b***dy mess out, and which I let go as I didn't want to mess him around any further. Thank you chaps. me and my lad
you need to update your paypal account with the new card details, they dont send you a reminder to renew when your card runs out
