BUCKSHOT1
Hi If there are no Pheasant shooting this season ,do anybody know if it is Possible to keep them for the following Season. Seeing cover crops will be gone and if we add more Poults will they pull them away from pens ,and if I an keep them would it be better if I Spin wheat to keep cost down, we are only a Syndicate . I tried contacting BASC but are closed due to Shut down . any ideas Alan
Walker570
Fair chance any birds left over at the end of the season will become wild and if your area is good then they will hang around. I wouldn't spin feed as this will be gobbled up by all and sundry. keep your feeders working if you can afford it and put some protection arouind them to stop deer, badgers etc helping themseleves.. About all you can do.
B725
A bit of regular dogging in may help as Walker has said keep food for as long as possible. Can you not split the syndicate up into very small rough shooting days.
BUCKSHOT1
Thanks for your Help ,if it does happen we will have to use wheat sparingly, the cost to feed up too next year will be a lot to cover ,only thing if we can hold them we might be able to cut back on Poults Fingers Cross .
