It certainly isn't 100% immunity. The vaccine means that your body already has antibodies and 'knows' how to produce them. My understanding from what I have read is that most vaccinated people will not 'catch it' (so presumably can't pass it on) because the virus is met by antibodies - and those that do get it - will get it less severely because the antibodies are there, ready, waiting. I believe that those less severely ill also tend to pass it on less - if only because they are coughing less and get over it faster.
