reindeer
I own a little used, near mint 12 bore Winchester Supergrade XTR lightweight, 1/2-1/1 choke, the 'real' 101 so to speak. The bottom barrel prints 50-50 patterns, so POI is where I point the barrels. The top barrel however prints high, about 10-90 patterns. Can anyone tell me if 101 barrels were intentionally regulated this way? I cannot see this to be an advantage for mixed shooting. Scully
I have no idea to be honest. I have owned many 101’s and currently own three. The only one I have roughly patterned is a trap version which I aimed at a large piece of tin to see what spread I could expect from what I believed to be full and extra full chokes. Just get out there and enjoy your gun and don’t overthink things; just sit that crossing bird atop your muzzles and you’ll be good to go. If you miss ,it won’t be down to where you think it’s throwing it’s pattern.
Smokersmith
I can’t imagine they were. Presumably you tested it over a number of shots?
reindeer
Yes I fired about ten shots at 40 yrd cardboard plates, both pointing and swinging through. For a trap gun I can understand the benefit of a high printing top barrel but not for a game gun.
