bugman
Can some one point me in the right direction in relation to browning grades? I have a 525 Grade 3 is there something like a marking that tells me it is a Grade 3? I understand its all about finish but with out having a grade 4 or 5 for comparison how do I know? This matter is made even more confusing (maybe just to me as I've not cracked the code) by the Browning catalogue the same age as the gun as it doesn't state grades it states Advance, Elite etc. Any easy pointers well be most grateful especially if I do decide to replace my stock that has been damaged! AdamW
Further to that, there is a grade 5 stock on flea bay here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BROWNING-GRADE-5-SHO...1QQcmdZViewItem Just to give you some idea of woods! Adam
Gordon R
If you turn it over, you should see the grade underneath the receiver.
bugman
See mines a grade 3 with lots of detailled engraving, nice wood and has gold on it?? Just to confuse the matter!
AdamW
If you turn it over, you should see the grade underneath the receiver. Again to add to the confusion, mine doesn't have a grading on the under side! OK, I give up...................... Adam

(Had already weighed that up as it now has the fore to match I believe!!) It’s a pain because if I were to contact Browning for a replacement stock how do I know it’s going to be right? I'm having my doubts it’s a grade 3 now as it could be a 4. I think the 5 had gold birds on the side engraving (it was new in 2005!) This has the same engraving but not inlayed with gold, the trigger is gold and the Browning logo on the trigger guard is inlayed with gold.
