JDog
Last Friday I was invited by Clodhopper to shoot game. The shoot was one where I have previously been a syndicate member but due to covid and some of the land being sold it hasn't been run as normal for the past two seasons. Assembled round the table with bacon and sausages, tea, coffee and sloe gin were nine guns, two pickers up and loads of volunteer beaters. The goodwill on this shoot is palpable. I will not go into the day on a drive by drive basis but would just say that both pheasants and wild duck flew very well providing testing shooting on every drive. The bag greatly exceeded expectations. Edited December 14, 2021 by JDog

Clodhopper
It was a pleasure to have you join us. The bag greatly exceeded what we anticipated. However the most important part of the day was the Craic, everyone involved enjoying a beautiful day in the countryside. Many of us carried this on in the local pub until late in the evening. Although it stressed me at the time, particular highlights were the beaters wagon getting stuck, some guns going to the wrong drive, losing a stop on the first drive and finally putting the guns out for the second drive and heading off to pick up only to realise I had left my dog back in the truck!
