chrisjpainter
The gap's not that big between France and England though. Look at the last ten results between the two teams (most recent first): 24-12; 17-15; 10-6; 25-23; 33-10; 19-13; 17-15; 20-10; 20-18; 41-26 England have won them all, but only once has it been by more than 20 and there have been four that were by just two points.ย Edited May 1, 2022 by chrisjpainter

Sadly the teams are decades apart in terms of comparability even if all the teams were suddenly professional the results will not change for many years....... So are you saying that the event shouldn't have been played? When should they play? When a panel thinks that all the players are all equal? Edited to say should we sack the FA cup as they are not equal? Edited May 2, 2022 by harrycatcat1

No..what im saying this "grand slam" should be taken in the context of what is is.....professional vs amateur. Im mearly stating that currently and for the very foreseeable future the gulf in ability is so great its hard to see when and if it can be closed... On your fa cup statement its a knock out tournament the small clubs get their run cause an upset and the top team wins....if the fa cup consisted ofย man city playing boreham wood twice a year then say accrington Stanley and cpl others with liverpool as the other top team its not hard to pick a winner....but what does it achieve for the lesser team???.... ย
