countryman
Hi I never really got on flying the planes as they need a lot of space. Have you thought about an electric helicopter? If you've never flown one before I would highly recommend the Esky Lama V3, they sell between £65-£100 new. These are really stable flyers and with very little practise you will be able to control this helicopter well. The reason why so many peole give up flying is basically becasue they constantly crash with them. Once you've mastered this one you will soon find yourself moving on to bigger and better things. pin
Got a link to the plane? You can get reasonable electric park flyers now for about 100-150 all in, amazing compared to say just 5 years ago

BigGun1
Hi Mate! I think you would be better off starting with fixed wing, electric is a good idea as you don't have to spend time trying to get a glow motor to run. With LIPO batteries youy can get great flight times but for your first flights that won't matter....after a few min's your gonna want to land and catch your breath/change your trousers! Personal reccomendation would be for a GWS DH beaver , it's a model that looks like a plane, has a minimal amount of building required and will fly nice and slowly without trying to stall into the floor. I uses standard micro servos that can then be swopped to your next model. If you fancy something unusual how about a flying wing/delta?? I have a Great Planes slinger and it's superb to fly, fast or slow, stable and pretty much crash proof, also ideal if you live near some good hills as it will slope soar in light conditions. I would reccomend before touching the sticks of a real model you get hold of a simulator and get use to the controls, RC plane master is great and comes with a transmitter all for about £25 I have one for hoening my skills (yea right) and think it's superb for the money. If you must go for a helli please don't go for the Llama, they are great but for an out and out beginner you would be much better off with a twister bell medivac or similar, I learnt to fly rotary with mine and still use it alot! even though I have an ergo there is still something cool about flying something that small! If you would like to take more feel free to PM me Good luck, BG1
jcbruno
thanks for the advise guys not to interested in the helicopters but a electric rc plane will do i think i chose the harvard because back home were i am from the province of sask land of prairies and during ww2 it was the commonwealth air training school where pilots from Canada,UK,Australia,New Zealand, and South Africa flew in harvards and tiger moths so it seems cool to me to build one with Royal Canadian Airforce markings kind of a image of local history and its a trainer and i need to learn to fly and i can get one for pretty cheap 200 bucks or 100 pounds in your curency anyway i will post pics when i get it
