amg_1969
Hi just wondering as this is the first time this has happened, owing to my darling other half we are moving house (only just over a mile) Is it best to tell FEO before or after move? Also best to install cabinet as top priority as I do not want 3 shotguns loose in the house, I guess it would be best to do this straight away to comply with licence conditions, unless anyone knows any better? Thanks Andrew
Blackbart
I did it last year All i did was move and then put it in writing that you have moved giving your new address.First job when you get in is to install cabinet as you dont want guns lying about. A little tip make sure you buy a load of cartridges before you send letter in as you have to include your license in with your letter and if your licensing is anything like mine(northumbria)and you are sending it in now you may not get it back until 2008 From the day i handed mine in until they did a home visit(to check cabinet etc) it was 126 DAYS then another 22 days until i received my certificate back. They used every excuse under the sun for the delay including it must have got lost in the post, even though i handed it in personaly at phq and got a receipt!!! Markio
You know your new address and the date you're moving, just write him a letter to the effect of "from XXXXXX date my new address will be XXXXXX XXXXXX". Job done. Get moved and get the cabinet fitted in first thing.

Blackbart
I told the firearms licencing dept about 25 days before and the feo is coming to see me at my previous address on thursday and im moving friday. Why did he go to your previous address? when he cant issue new cert without seeing your cabinet at your new address....

amg_1969
Now moved sent recorded letter to Essex police, just waiting for phone call to arrange visit. I hated fitting the cabinet as we have moved to old house and the walls appeared solid but as soon as I started drilling them they crumbled a bit, It was a ****** to get the rawl bolts to grip but got there in the end. Just hope it passes the check Andy
