jam1e
Hi folks, although I own several case trimmers, I do like my Forster with the Chamfer and De-bur head on it. The only issue I have nowadays, is due to my disabilities..... I find it hard and painful to hand crank continuously if I have say 50 pieces of brass to do. I have all sorts of bits lay around in my garage, so I could easily knock out an attachment to the trimmer handle then a bit of flexible pipe to a small cordless screwdriver i have. The only thing I could do with is the size of the shaft thread, once the handle is unscrewed off. I think it may be 9/16 by 24. But I would really appreciate it if somebody could confirm this, or tell me what the thread pitch is? Constructive advice appreciated. Cheers. Help requested on another forum. Looking for confirmation....
enfieldspares
Forster in fact make a device specifically for power trimming. I'd maybe ask Forster directly explain, as you have here, what you wish to know for. I think you'll find them very helpful. I have been using a Forster since Otto Weber brought them to Bisley in 1982! https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/registerguard/name/otto-weber-obituary?pid=194521913 Edited December 11, 2022 by enfieldspares
enfieldspares
I saw this link but I have no idea at all other than that! https://www.reloading.co.uk/forster-power-adapter-for-case-trimmers.html

fizzbangwhallop
The tap size is a 7/16th UNF using a 25/64 drill.... I bought this adapter from eBay...... Then, thinking lining a drill with that fixed in it might be a faff, I made this with a sewing machine motor from a sewing machine shop.... better quality than the chinese made ebay offers but I'm sure they'd do the job just as well. The pulley wheel was eBay too.... and its set up sounds it just pulls outwards running free... finger pressure on the pulley pushes it into trimming... too hard and you risk a friction burn! jam1e
Thanks for the info, and nice job regarding the adapter. Cheers Chaz
fizzbangwhallop
Cheers 👍 The motor cover was an old aluminium baking tray, bent to shape and sprayed a tasteful green being the only can in the garage that still worked. 😂. It’s all mounted on an old chopping board, so all in all…. done on the cheap. Cheers fizz
