Evil Elvis
Does any one know if the legal status of squirrels has changed from vermin since the 1981 wildlife and countryside act? I am being told they are no longer classed as vermin? Edited February 27, 2023 by Evil Elvis Spelling
old'un
Pest/vermin does it really matter what they are called? You can still kill/trap them at any time of year.
Ultrastu
Come under the same category as brown rats .rabbits and mice .no closed season no licence required to hunt them .and your not allowed to release them if you cage trap them they MUST be destroyed . Legal methods are shooting .poison .clubbing neck breaking .(though I wouldn't recommend handling a live rat ,mouse or squirrel ,only rabbit .) No drowning or stabbing or anything that could be construed as prolonging suffering .that would be an offence .
