toka_shigazu
I am after land to shoot on in the north west, any reasonable travelling distance from Ormskirk [south lakes are only 40 mins away]. I am interested in vermin [mainly rabbits] shooting with a rimfire .22 rifle, and have insurance through BASA. If you have any suitable land and have a problem with vermin please contact me, or let me know of anyone else who may need some vermin control. jimdfish
PKTaylor24 When I was a kid I used to stay with an Aunt and Uncle in Atherton and their house backed onto a big expanse of land where there had once been a colliery in which lots of miners died. Could be Pretoria mine? As a kid I used to watch shooters walking up to a clay soot in the woods. Does this shoot still exist? barrie0
Jimdfish I know where you mean , at the back of Hag fold estate we used to call it the rooks (many hours there with my air rifle) . Yes there was a clay shoot there as the first time i ever used a shotgun was when me and my mate popped up there and the owner let us have a go . At the back of the rooks was lord hultons estate where i used to go rough shooting. I was brought up in Lowton first then Howe bridge behind the oak tree root pub but my mates used to live up Hag Fold so we started shooting up the rooks with air rifles then up the Estate because my mates dad was allowed up there . Small world isn't it.
