RCB56
I'm also with o2 but haven't received any notifications regarding RCS Messaging but I've just read up about it by looking up RCS Messaging on Google, have a look it tries to explain it but I will need to have another look to try to understand it. 30-6
I'm with Tesco for mobile, and for some time my texts have been RCS, just changed on its own,if the receiving phone has it also. I think it just gives you a more secure messaging service if I understand it correctly. If I want to send a message when I am not on line ( I only have 500 mb of mobile data ) it offers me to wait or send as normal text.
Rem260
The problem is that if the other phone cannot recieve RCS it doesn't convert it to SMS and your message gets bounced back. This doesn't happen straight away and you are the unaware of its failure. Pretty annoying it you're waiting for a reply.
