Clay cartridge PSI

Konor very kindly has given me a pair of Little Skeeters 10-12g, [thanks again Konor top bloke 👍] reading the Skeeters blurb online, they recommend only using target/ clay loads, as a heavy hunting load with larger shot may distort the insert, making extraction difficult, my question is what pressure does a clay cart run at ?..... I am looking at a Longshot recipe for 1-1/4oz of bismuth at 7500 psi and wondering if that would be OK.

A quick flick through my Lymans manual (so US data) and it is a bit mixed. Very roughly, low recoil  7/8 oz loads are around 6,000 - 7,000 PSI, 1 oz loads 7,000 - 10,000 PSI and heavy field loads 9,000 - 11,000 + PSI. 

The Hodgdon's web site lists pressures if you want to have a look.

7500 psi seems good for a mid range load Or as the Americans say Target load , 7500 is just over 500 bar so over 200 bar below standard max load's .

Indeed, Cheers that's where I got the longshot recipe, it's a low pressure load I'm after, both to suit the gun and the insert

Looking through Lyman's, there's some high pressure target loads and low pressure field loads for the same weight of shot, I guess aiming for around 8000 should be worth a shot. At least I have a good selection of 12g components and more available from stockists
