Southam Auctions
I think anyone buying from this chap should be aware that the reason for selling is not genuine. He is buying these shotguns from Southam Auctions and flogging them on here. This is lot 1937. Search the auction catalogue below and reference the serial number on the gun to the serial in the photos. Little Chopper
Incorrect I’m afraid. The gun was bought at auction yes. It was in a poor state. The action frame was used to replace the action frame on the gun shown as the current one cracked. It’s aluminium not steel!! It broke when the bolt holding the stock to the gun was overtightened by the gunsmith during a service. The original correct serial number is on the barrel. As I’m sure many do especially with semi autos, if it needs a spare part it’s sometimes easier to buy the same gun and use it for spares than it is trying to source the new part. It’s now sold and the new owner has been made aware of the action replacement and is ok with this. Well spotted though guys!!👍👍
Southam Auctions
Right well seeing as I've just recieved the following from Little Chopper: Next time before you accuse members of dealing guns etc you may want to get all your detective work correct as you could be liable for defamation of character. So please do your homework first, make sure your findings are correct and don’t jump to conclusions. Let's have a look at some of the other guns he's sold on here recently...... Have a look at the woodwork on the stock https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-us/auction-catalogues/southams-auctioneers-and-valuers/catalogue-id-srso10070/lot-a4684067-c877-4373-932c-b07000d394ab And this one: Where he's kindly shown the serial number in the photo https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-us/auction-catalogues/southams-auctioneers-and-valuers/catalogue-id-srso10070/lot-7b4fe5ab-708f-46cf-933a-b07000d3b5bd All from Southam Auctions! What's the story we these then....? I've got my popcorn out... cant wait to see what you come back with!
Teal
@Southam Auctionsyou should sell some of your guns through PW!! I don't have an issue with someone buying and selling guns (although it should be on the trade section if trading). But the suggestion that the OP is being dishonest to help sales is... Little Chopper
Well to be fair I still have both of the Berettas. Felt bad trying to sell them so marked them as sold. The Franchi was bought for spares though. Im sure Im not the only one who occasionally wins something at auction at well below market valve, or at much less than the expected sale price, takes it home, try’s it out and it doesn’t fit or is not what there really after and moves it on? And do you really want to put that it was acquired from the auction for nothing so I’m selling it for nothing? Even though the auctions can offer some quality items I believe they are too quick to let the item go ‘ for nothing’ just to get there commission, I know it’s up to the seller to put a reserve, usually at a cost, but I do feel the auctions do let some sellers down though. opinions invited please? best wishes all. Chopper😎👍
