Conor O'Gorman
A valuable item in a keeper’s toolkit is the ability to defend their role if challenged; Terry Behan explains how BASC provides it and much more. jall25
Conor - maybe BASC could offer free biodiversity assessments to any shoots that are members

Do you mean biodiversity assessments delivered by BASC staff or an agency? Also, what level of detail for such assessments and to what purpose? Many moons ago I used to do bird surveys to identify priority species such as tree sparrows which was relevant to certain agri-environmental schemes. Is that the kind of thing you are suggesting? Gordon R
The article is rather sparse on actual detail, but a decent start.

I have caught up with Terry and for the shoot visits we recommend the GWCT free online assessment tool, and to get involved with BASC Green Shoots Mapping, and we could include a biodiversity assessment as an option for shoots - we have recently hired an ecologist so that kind of support to shoots could be possible.
