Doormat
Thanks for the replies I’m trying to revert the gun back to open sights, just waiting for the replacement rear Williams sight from the US. Already sourced and fitted the original front sight. You are right, it’s absolutely gorgeous, telescopic sights ruin the look.

Those were on my phone from 2022, it had scopes fitted back then. As I mentioned up thread she’s no show pony, but I feel lucky that I still have her. I have 2 other rifles HW97K in black synthetic stock and Milbro Tracker that I bought off a work colleague the Milbro was way too long so chopped 6” off the barrel and a 1” off the stock. Now all 3 rifles are of similar size. The 97 is by far my most accurate, the Milbro is great to handle - especially after I routed a finger groove into the stock!! But the Stutzen always steals the show, everyone who sees it, wants it 😂👍🏻

Doormat Posted Friday at 11:50 Author Report Share Posted Friday at 11:50 (edited) It didn’t fit!!…..arrgh 😫 had to carefully, (very carefully 😬) file the dovetail on the new rear sight. Kept passing the diamond file through until it was a tight fit, added some light oil and tightened the fixing screw. At last, after over 30yrs my Stutzen is finally fitted with open sights. Can’t tell you how happy I am. off outside to try her out. Edited Friday at 12:06 by Doormat
