BobbyH
Hey all! I picked this .410 up a few months back, 30 mins after picking it up, and putting a snap cap in it, it snapped a firing pin. So sadly, it instantly left a bad taste in my mouth. (I didn’t know that firing pins could go just like light bulbs and were easily replaced. I wasn’t a fan of the folding element, and the fact it was a tad difficult to cock. (The top lever rotates to 90 degrees to cock the hammers back). Plus, when I went to part Ex it, the dealer really low balled me and offered £40! So it just sat at the back of the cabinet unloved and un-shot. I got it out the other day, and thought that it would be a good base to do a little mini over haul. I have since loved .410’s so am going to take it apart, re do the wood using Tru Oil and also I have a few ideas to ‘Jazz’ it up. Pics to follow soon if anyone is interested! Just a little update, I found a lovley blue I like, and I fancied doing this just to make it stand out a little bit. Some will like it, many will hate it. I like it! BobbyH
Wood sanded back and Tru-Oil’d. Painted inserts in the action and the top of the barrel too.
30-6
I bought the same model years ago, sold it to a bloke who was teaching his son to shoot, helped him out but regretted it soon after. Got the same model now in a 20g, shoots exactly to point of aim, you can use it like a rifle. Lovely guns to go for a walk around.
marquesgriffin
Sorry to hear that, your .410 had issues right away, especially with the firing pin and the tricky folding mechanism. The dealer's low offer didn't help either, but I'm glad you're not giving up on it. Your plan to refinish the wood with Tru Oil and add some custom touches sounds great! I'm excited to see how it turns out, and I'm sure others will be interested in your project too. Looking forward to the pictures!
BobbyH
Thankyou all, Im happy with it, a bit difficult to operate, but can get over that! I have done some wood work on it, just need to find another buttpad and i can then get it finished! Photos to come up soon!
