Vehicle Lighting

Recommended Posts

What is it about car (in particular) lights? First of all you cant get people to turn them on when they should and then, later, turn them off when they should (parked on the same side of the road and facing the oncoming traffic), again, in particular. Now, for game, set and match, DIY film or whatever on the rear light clusters - the OEM and after sales examples are bad enough -  but some idiot will double up the film - what the hell is all this about - other than the potential for causing accidents?

People not turning lights on when they should has been mitigated for since 2012 when daylight running lights were made mandatory for new vehicle type approvals. So the number of people driving without lights is ever decreasing as older cars get scrapped.

I do occasionally see the someone driving around (illegally) with their sidelights on.

As for dodgy DIY window tints, that’s just asking to get pulled over. Well executed OEM tints for the rear windows however are a great in the current weather, especially if you have young kids.

And yet there are still people driving in the dark/poor conditions with the automatic sidelights on, thinking that all their lights are on, ie no rear or headlights on ! Modern technology eh ?! 🤦‍♂️
