hi

i have a old anschutz target rifle do you think i could make this into a sporting rifle. i now it is only a singal shot but if i put a bipod, scope and a sling do you think this would make a ok .22 sporting rifle

russ

yeh why not, the only things against it are weight and the fact it is single shot

Russ, sporterising can be done, might be cheaper to sell it and buy another more suitable but it still can be done. Whatever you do though, DO NOT get the barrel screwcut! :good: The Anschutz heavy match barrels are stressed, button rifled and choked - chopping the barrel down will ruin the accuracy (as the choking will be cut off) and screw cutting can cause the stresses to be relieved in a massive way...like a blunderbluss, splayed out all over the place! I know some that have been done and are OK, but it's really NOT worth it!
