Guest
Has anyone tried or got a pair of muck boots - the half welly, half neoprene things? Dad's friend swears by them, and I was thinking about getting a pair as boots and gaiters are too much hassle, just for some rough shooting/light beating. nav54
From what I have seen mate they are quite robust and a very snug and comfy fit I personally do not like the look of them but each to their own.
cleaner4hire
i stumbled across some of these in a magazine the other day and i think they'll be ideal for what your after - i wanted them for rough shooting. Not had a try of a pair yet tho, but they look the biz!
Cranfield
There is a wide variety of quality in these. Some are just a rubber foot and a nylon ankle covering, they last about 5 minutes in rough cover, but are OK for wandering round the garden, or the High St when it snows. If you are going to punish them a bit, look for the "leather" ankle covering.

codling99
ive got a pair, brilliant boots, only thing i dont like,is:. s;ippery when climbing gates, the heel inside wears away and rubs your heel a bit if they a little loose on you (mine are),and warm and sweaty on back of calves when walking around.apart from that ,they warm as toast and comfortable if your standing around, just a bit to warm when lamping when your walking miles . JohnGalway
I've got the Esk type Muckboots. They're warm (too warm for summer), dry and very comfortable, also have good grip. But, where your foot bends the band which joins the sole to the upper has started coming away from the upper, and also the rubber(?) strip that goes up the back of the heel has come loose. They're not leaking but it's a bad sign for wellies which although used everyday around the farm and hunting don't get "abuse".
Guest
the heel inside wears away and rubs your heel a bit if they a little loose on you (mine are) So what size did you buy compared to shoe size, are they bigger or smaller than shoe sizes? Thing is I wear a 12 in almost everything, but wellies are usually big and an 11 may do. Cheers, Sam
malkiserow
I've got a pair and love them for warmth as I often go out on a rescue hovercraft/RIB and need to stand in water a bit. I use them for light field use ie where NO thorns are about or sitting in a hide. If you wear them in rough areas where thorns, barb wire etc are about you will destroy them in no time. bullterrier
I bought a pair of the ones you posted on the link about 2 months ago, I reckon they`re excellent. They took about 4 days to break in but have been comfortable ever since. I use mine to walk the dogs in as well as shooting & beating & they`ve been warm, dry & comfortable. Mine are a size 11 which is what I wear normally, I wear 1 pair of woolly socks & they don`t overheat but do keep my feet at a comfortable temperature. They have a semi reinforced toe cap & shed mud quiet easily. I`ve no idea how good they`ll be in 6 months time, but right now I like them. Devilishdave
I am on my second set the first set I had did about 18 miles per week for two years before they gave up the ghost. They were warm in the winter and not to warm in the summer and very comfortable. Highly recomended. Dave
