Oly
Don't know of any specific pigeon shooting books, but whatever you decide on I've found the best place to compare all the web prices is www.bookbutler.com, unless it's for sale at the UK Shootwarehouse of course! Cranfield
Probably the most interesting and iconic pigeon shooting book is, "Pigeon Shooting" by Archie Coats, a great read but it was first published in 1963. "The Pigeon Shooter" by John Batley is another good book and was published in 1996, so could be considered more up to date.
Rapid 17
I have 'Pigeon Shooting' by Archie Coats and 'Shooting Woodpigeon' by A.E.B.Johnson. The Archie Coats book is particularly interesting because on page 110 he describes 'The Big Day' when he shot 550 pigeons for about 650 cartridges on 10th January 1962. Also there were no pigeon magnates in those days and Archie was a professional pigeon shooter. Geoff.
webber
Archie Cotes is an interesting read, but now dated. I found John Batleys book most informative and relevant. However there have been a host of new technological innovations since Batley published, some of them I feel aimed at attracting shooters as much as attracting pigeon. webber
The Beater
"The Pigeon Shooter" by John Batley is a good book. Its more about good fieldcraft and setting up in the right place, not just turn up in a field and set up with every pigeon gadget out there. Amozon was best price. Sundowner
Don;t know about John Batley but I bought Archie Coats"Pigeon shooter" a few weeks back on amazon for about £7. It was worth every penny and I still pick it up to re-read passages
