  1. No sorry. Could always meet someone at North Wales Shooting School, 25mins away.
  2. I have 975 of the above cartridges for sale. 500 fibre wad, 6s 65mm 30g 475 plas wad, 6s 65mm 30g £180 cash the lot, no offers. Dry stored bought 18 months ago, I just don't go out anymore as my old dog is passed it and it's not the same without him. I'm about 10mins from Cattenhall shooting ground Cheshire if you wanted to meet there on a Wednesday. PM me for contact no or meet. Edit- need to see a valid shotgun certificate before sale.
  3. What time scale do you think cartridges have before they lose performance...... ? I shot a box 25 year old grandprix 30g 5s in december and they killed very cleanly.
  4. Yes I stop mid April to mid July. The woody is a beautiful bird, not a flying rat or vermin. It is an agricultural pest.
  5. I have 250 boxed 30g 6s plastic wad put aside. Maybe worth few quid one day.
  6. I was shooting a flight line with some old Gamebore Supergame HiBird 28g 6s today, very smooth and did a great job on some fast tricky birds with todays wind. No fun shooting heavy loads all day in a light gun.
  7. Are daffodils were up on Christmas Eve, been in flower for last 12days Edit, they are always very early
  8. This carts are bit gappy at 30yrds with 1/4 choke, a lot better pattern with 3/4 through mk60. Still 19 pigeons in an hour on the rape the other morning before they fled else where.
  9. Have just about used up all my original clear pigeon 30g (clear case) that I used for over 15 years and had total faith in, I go my local supplier and he has the new clear pigeon in 32g, which is to much recoil for me through light game gun when shooting a lot or it's these Power Pigeon 29g 6s, so the latter it was. If you have confidence using high performance game carts for pigeon shooting good for you, I don't have anything in the back of my mind when shooting, I was just curious about these new cartridges.
  10. Yes, a job for the vernier caliper, my uncle has one. Be helpful if they stated it on box, I know a lot of them are using european shot in the heavier game loads.
  11. Oh, bought some and split one open and counted 238 pellets in the 29g load, isn't there round 270 in 6 shot to the oz/28g . I always check a new cartridge, thought they look a little bigger, but maybe my eyes are going!!!
  12. Hi folks, are these cartridges english shot size or european ?
  13. Wouldn't want to pay the diesel bill. Or for all that hard wear. You got understanding bank manager then
  14. This is why pigeon shooting is so challenging, no one really knows 100% what pigeons will do on any day. Luck of the draw how you get on, but you can do things to improve your chance. Get someone shooting the rape and clover at the same time , and keep them moving. If there is a good wind the better I had the same last weekend, someone set up on the rape before me, so left it till after lunch & i went to a small wood bout mile away where bird sit up then drop on to clover along side for afternoon feed. Good wind blowing bagged 26 in in 2hrs on the flightline because we kept them moving.
  15. On one of my permissions its an organic farm and the farmer has been spreading slurry on the winter wheat last week to get it going as its the cheapest fertilizer for him to use. On another permission sometimes they spread pig **** slurry on winter corn to keep rabbits off. You do get hand full of pigeons on it then feeding on the un-split/un-rolled corn thats gone straight through pigs. Spreading slurry on rape wont do it any harm, they'll just put less nitrogen (bag muck) (white pellets) on next month when ground warms up. d Was he spreading with Vaccy tank or barrel spreader ?
  16. lucky ****, i've tried to go after them but never had any luck!! Always spook them at last minute & miss
  17. good bag mate, & a good old dog. Hope my lab is still at it at that age.
  18. Only said they where C%$p lads cos birds i was dropping with ease on same flight line werent with the rio. Had bout 5 that were hit legs drop etc.. fly off. My shooting didnt change, shot that flight line for over 10 yrs know it very well. maybe they dont pattern well in my gun?? or a duff bunch, but wouldnt buy any. I've always thought myself you point it in right place any cartridge will do the job. These couldnt do the job past 30yrds compared to clear pigeon. I'll change what i said lads anyone with MK60 choked 1/4 & 3/4 dont buy classic game  P.s someone who shoots Mk60 gona say there dogs now
  19. 26 pigeons this afternoon on flight line over small wood.
  20. Just thought i'd let everyone know who maybe think of buy some of the above cartridges, Dont cos they ****. Shooting a flightline over a small wood today by where birds are on clover and i ran out of cartridges only took belt full of Clear pigeon. My mate gave me some of the rio and no way near got the stopping power of the clear pigeon. Anything 30yrds plus dare not shoot at cos just maim them. They were all on same flight line i was dropping them easy with clear pigeon. Me mate isnt the best shot but the cartridges maybe not helping. Clear pigeon 25 shoots- 18 birds Rio classic game 20 shoots- 7 birds Shot there Miroku coked 1/4 & 3/4
  21. Term pest control differs from shooter to shooter & how they do it. I was bought up to the country code, & I pest control in a SPORTING fashion, IE i respect what i shot. I ensure it is killed quick and clean, then i eat it. You maybe be one of those johnys that just likes dressing up in camo & likes to own a lot of guns & go driving round the country side in you 4x4 thats jacked up on high springs with big spotlights. You tell everyone your a pest controller to get away with doing these things?
  22. Why/how would shooters be giving it a bad name, shooting for the pot?
  23. Unlucky SS, Had the same problem on friday morning, 1inch of snow on the ground, set up 1st light bout 500/600 started flying rd but showed no interest in decoying just sat in trees on edge of field. Then they all cleared off & came back in groups of 30 odd all morning to sitting trees. ended with 6. Your theory could well be right !
  24. As long as the birds end up in the food chain, via game dealer or butcher, pub, given to friends, on your own plate or even for ferrets, there is no problem with big bags IMO. I dont agree if there just gona be dumped in corner of a field tho. In regards to getting kicked off your permission if you dont shoot large bags is tosh, there will be alot on here who have alot more than a 2 to 1 kill ratio when decoying. So farmer may here 200 shots in the day but may only be 30/40 in bag, thats Worse cos your not doing a very good job. Thats when they should lose permission & get to clay ground, not for not shooting large bags!
