Elma Fud
Has everyone had a chance to read Sporting Guns, HUSHING UP THE FACTS. article by Robin Scott A report into Thomas Hamilton, compiled by police 5 years before the killings, has been placed under a public secrecy order for 100 years. Highlighting speculation that prominent Scots were closely connected to Hamilton, and again brought up speculations that he met well-connected people through Freemasonary. What future do we have when the facts have been hidden from us, and more to the point the public.
reynard895
It is common knowledge that the police received bad reports on hamilton, unfortunately they didnt act on these warnings and a trajedy took place on that fatefull day in dumblane. Nothing can ever replace the loss to the families involved, some of home spoke out by saying they did not blame people that shoot for a hobby, but a deranged psycho, that could of been denyed access to guns, if the police had done their homework if he had, had no cert, it would surely of helped legitemate shooters cause. It does make you wander why 100years was chosen before the public can be made aware of what happened ( is this the governments way of saying they got it wrong and therefore shouldnt be placing more presure on the shooters of this free country) Another can of warms has been opened. Its great how we come to sites like this one, to comunicate in harmony with fellow shooters alike, yet its hard to supress ones anger at some of the bad publicity our great sport has to suffer. Regards Ian Ps I think I should move into the town its starting to show that I dont get out a lot ( hehe)
Pigeon Pieman
A very close friend of mine lost his daughter at Dunblane. As a personal favour I would ask if we could terminate this topic. I know it impacts on us all but the actual event is very painful for people close to me and my family. 100 years is chosen as it is perceived that no one will still be alive with a vested interest in the documents. Ther is no doubt the police fu**ed up, even they admit it. Hope you understand my request guys.
