  1. 6 Places available in syndicate, Plantation is situated roughly 14 miles north of Moffat in the tweed valley (prime sika country). Best road layout I have seen in a plantation with wide open spaces for spotting deer. Plantation is just under 1200 acres with another two to three hundred acres of open spaces, scattered through out. DSC level 1, and own insurance cover required, £650 per year. if interested, Contact: roe-sika@fsmail.net
  2. As of last year, sound moderators do not need to be proofed, contact Jackson rifles that supply the reflex range of moderators, thanks to him and some others, you do not need to have a moderator proofed anymore. I was also told that you can own as many moderators but only when atached to the rifle does it become the one that you have on your cert, ( cant confirm if this is true, was a policeman that told me, as I say they aint the best sourse for gun related laws ) Cheers

  4. I never deleted any post from here, obviously the powers to be were thinking I was advertizing, which I hasten to add, I was not. The prices you thought I had said were both wrong YP, but as someone was obviously upset with my post and didnt have the manners to email me regarding anything I did or said that was not in order with the site rules. You have no need to apolagise to me Yp, I thought you were taking the proverbial, whith the price you quoted for the silver pigeon, I was obviously wrong and therefore apolagise to you. cheers
  5. I have to disagree with that, horses for courses.
  6. I wouldnt of expected that coment from anyone else on her but you YP, your getting predictable.
  7. Whats the best in your opinion and whats the worst you have used, for pigeons. I myself use Gamebore clear pigeon, till I got some white gold from the gamebore rep to try, for a 28g load they are the hardest hitting I have found, was dropping birds at extreme ranges. I was also given some blue diamond ( gordon system ), these had to be the weakest cartridge I have ever fired, I was hitting the birds square on, puff of feathers and they flew away. This is just my opinion, no doubt someone will swear by blue diamond and hate white gold. look forard to reading your opinions. cheers
  8. You should get out more often, telling jokes like that.
  9. I use a 5 gallon drum, has done the trick for years, ok if you can get your gear right up to where you are setting up your hide, by way of some sort of vehicle. cheers
  10. He can have all my stars, or anyone else can, dont make me shoot any better, hehe. cheers

  16. Excuse my ignorance but what is a pasenger pigeon. As an ex pigeon fancier, ( top flyer in 2 clubs for my last 3 seasons ), I know quite a bit about racing pigeons, am I confusing the pasenger with the carrier pigeon or are they 2 difrent species. Look forward to a reply. Cheers
  17. Welcome to the site Brooktrout. :( Regards Ian
  18. Sorry I mistakenly added part of my post to the quote. apolagies. cheers
  19. I hear what you are saying, I was quoting from the home ofice guidlines to all UK police forces. I agree in what you say, I think that any species if doing damage to crops can posibly be classed as vermin. I always thought they were classed as vermin, but as I said in an earlier quote if you are caught in Scotland poching and you have rabbits, they become game.
  20. I dont know anyone personaly but people do use a section 1 to shoot geese in this country, as long as it is done under licence issued by DEFRA or in the case of Scotland SEERAD. Interestingly under this section relates to game licence's, To quote "A game licence is needed to kill, take or pursue game and deer on unenclosed land. Game for these purposes is :hares, pheasants, partridges, grouse, heath or moor game, black game, woodcock, RABBIT and snipe", unquote So there it is rabbit is classed as game less this is a home ofice missprint. cheers
  21. As I said skuta, I shot them out of season, so sorry for the day late, looks like this forum is getting to the stage where you have to check what you say before you say it. I will do that in the future. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, apreciate it, wonder which forum pigeon pieman was going too (hehe) cheers
  22. Have never had the chance to shoot over linseed, but think you could be in for some good sport. Good luck. I fed my racing pigeons linseed, in smal quantity's, they love it, fighting over each other to get to in. Only thing I can think of getting from linseed is oil, thatl get the search engines working overtime to inform me what I dont know. All answers on a post card. cheers
  23. Sounds a good idea, if you can manage to delude customes, on the other hand Canada may have difrent rules regarding the movements of gen 3+ products. We pay so much this end for products that are real cheap in the USA and Cananda, on the other hand you pay a lot more for European products than we do, Being that everything is bigger and better in the USA they probably dont buy our european products. :( When I can aford one, I will pay for your flight over and back and give you some first class shooting with Scottish hospitality thrown in as a bonus. Great idea cheers
  24. I humbly apolagise and stand corected, as the letter of the law states, only for vermin. As you will know the goose shooting comes to a close, on the 1st of feb, yet I have shot geese under an extended close season License ( into March ), as they were described as vermin dew to the damage to crops. I quote from the home ofice police guidelines "The term vermin is not defined in law, but it may include destructive species that cause damage to crops" Cheers for putting me in my place, once again, how else do we learn, if not by others. Regards Ian
  25. As per quote, I didnt state this as fact. I was as keen to find out if was possible to obtain the gen 3 in this country. You will find that soviet made night vision can be not the same standard as the US, you may find that a soviet gen 3 equates to a US gen 2, I am sure Soviet Bazzar will not agree with this. I was genuinely serious a while back in getting a gen 3 from the states. I was told that I could not have a gen 3 sent outwith the states, so I looked into having a relative bring me one over, unfortunately if he was caught he could be prosecuted for breeching a customs law. I know that the US does export to Governments of other countrys night vision gen 3+ products for militery use only, not to joe public. I agree it was a bit confusing the quotes you added regarding gen 3 only made in 2 country's then to add except for some made in europe, surely there is then more than two country's producing gen 3 then. I am well impressed with the homework you have put in, on the subject, I will endeavour to do more my self before I reply to you. Regards Ian
