fortune
Why are'nt you allowed to reload in the republic ? Can you get the primers, powder and tips over there?
JohnGalway
Thanks Tulky Not entirely sure Fortune, can't get the primers and powder that's for sure. Unless you're naughty and go North for it. Not worth that hassle IMO.
fortune
I just went onto you-tube and there are loads of videos on there if you want to see how it's done. I reload allsorts of cals and shotgun stuff too. It’s easy to do and I make my own because like people guns are all different. You might be lucky and find a commercial round that suits your gun but when you reload your own and find the sweet load for your rifle, the group is really tight. If you want you can download bigger cals and get a soft load or a very quiet load by altering the burn speed of the powder. Like a high power car you don’t always want to drive it everywhere with the foot on the floor. My 223 pumps out a 55grn at 3450 with 26.5 grns powder as opposed to a 22-250 at 3600 with about 36 grns powder. 150 fps isn’t much behind. The setting up can be quite costly but it’s a hobby and a science in it’s own right.

fortune
Blimey. It looks like santa gave him a nice new shiny DILLON reloading set for crimbo. Its a good series of 3 vids though. My kit cosists of allsorts. RCBS, Hornady, Lyman, Simplex and other stuff. Rifle ammo is slightly different from pistol in the type of dies and minor bits. When you start reloading it soon gets out of control and you end up spending a small fortune on powders and different sorts of tips. I recon that I probably shoot ten rounds in load development to every one at a fox.
tikkamark
The setting up can be quite costly but it’s a hobby and a science in it’s own right. Thats very true fortune it really is a science in its own right I have seen plenty of the youtube vids there very good but seem to concentrate on pistol reloading and the other vids just show the machines working what i would like to see is a vid with a lad explaining each process ie priming and bullet seating ect and if it was just about .223 id be a bit more informed i dont shoot foxes with a pistol
SAVAGE HMR
Could any of you who reload your .223 rounds please put up a video of the reloading process involved with this round we cant do it here in the republic  but id be very interested in how its done You might find this video of use although it doesn't tell you exactly how it's done. But there are plenty from the same user which might be what your looking for.
