Millsy
Hi all. I`m going to apply for my F.A.C & assuming I`m still alive when permission is finally granted, I will need to either purchase a new Air Rifle or have mine tweaked. Could anyone give advice on which would be the best way to go on this one? Using an HW100S, firing at 11.2ft/lbs at the moment & think its wonderfull. I know they are heavy but hey, so is the wife! Joking apart, I would appreciate any information. Millsy

To tell you how to do it would be frowned upon especially if you were told on this forum. So I dont think you will get the answer you are looking for here. jerico
Once you have it down as fac it's a pain to get it classed as sub 12ftlb again. Have a search for fac air rifles for sale, they are normaly a lot cheaper than non fac rifles as they are harder to move on.

Tony Think I gave the wrong impression there when I said Tweak. I meant using a professional to have the modifications done legally. Cant see myself attacking my Air Rifle with a set of screwdrivers & a tube of glue somehow Having enough trouble assembling a thermo-nucleor bomb at the moment! The damn thing just wont go off I didn`t realise it is difficult to downgrade the ft/lbs. Based on that, I`ll leave my air rifle as it is & look into eventually getting another. Cheers for that Millsy
08shooter
buy a hw in fac like i did,it needs the longer barrel it will give 45 odd shots at 29 ft lbs with bis mags,it is slightly pellet fussy but ive mastered it now at last.quiet as a 12 ft lb gun and im loving it.up to yourself if you want to tweak it may be mre costly as buying a fac ready gun
peacey
I gave up in the end looking for an FAC air rifle, purchased a .22 rimfire and own an s410k which between them will stop just about any rabbit, squirrel, pigeon etc. No one near me does them and trying to get second hand is also difficult. Local gunshop had 2 in but they cost over 800 quid second hand and the only other one available new from a dealer new were bsa super 10's that have small bottles and a rubbish shot capacity, he does the upgrade himself. So 600 quid plus 90 quid for a bigger bottle plus scope it just keeps going up. Save your money Buy a rimfire

Having an airgun over 12ftlb without an fac could land you 5 years in jail. ss12
deadeye ive
I gave up in the end looking for an FAC air rifle, purchased a .22 rimfire and own an s410k which between them will stop just about any rabbit, squirrel, pigeon etc. No one near me does them and trying to get second hand is also difficult. Save your money Buy a rimfire I could'nt agree more other than the fact that a FAC Air rifle is more versitile and allows you to shoot over alot more ground where out building's could be a concern .......Basically you can go everywhere with FAC air but that .22 LR has to be given alot more consideration .So basically the type of land ,how much you have to cover ,on foot or vehicle will have a huge bearing on which type of firearm is most suited . BOTHfirearms have their place in any pest controllers cabinet IMO Back on track If buying FAC air always go for a FACTORY made one and avoid upping the power on a 12 ft lb model ......Theoben/Ripleys etc would be a exception to my advice though .
