klister
A few years ago I believe there was a national pigeon shooting day on one of the first weekends after the end of the game season - anybody know about this and if so which date this year? 2nd or 9th feb? Many thanks
webber
I cant remember the exact date, but I did take part and have a badge to prove it. I remember the concept causing some controversy at the time, but see no reason why we on PW could not organize our own national day, preferably in February as that is when most syndicates will be doing their roost shooting and we will therefore get maximum effect of keeping pigeon on the move. If only roost shooting we could all go a couple of hours earlier and give the grey squirrels some attention as well. We have done this on our syndicate for the last few years and it has been both effective and enjoyable. webber

Guest The Outlaw
I think the last one was second tuesday in Feb the 12th maybe. I could be wrong but it rings a bell, I was working and couldnt get out. I thought it was every year or is that another "urban myth"? Suffolk shooter
I enquired about this with BASC last year and there is no longer such a day , but Roost shooting is traditionally done in February around the 14th (Valentines day). High winds are what is needed with plenty of guns spread over and between the woods to keep them moving. SS
