wez
Help stop the home secretary and his ban everything mentality especially with the Firearms Control Review happening at the moment. Seeing as all the "anti's" no doubt have done it and done it for their senile grandmother too we all better do it otherwise we won't be shooting in about 5 years!!!! Well by the end of the year if we are unlucky. You can do it on line so very easy and lazy so there is no excuse. And if it all gets banned and you have not written in to complain well you know who you have to blame!! Note, email the home office and your MP. For full details of how to do this go to the BASC web site (even if your not a member) here http://www.basc.org.uk/content/respond_to_..._firearms_consu To do this online scroll about half way down and follow the links. Oh, tell your mates to fill it out too. Looking at airguns, shotguns and FAC's so none of use are safe! Yes I do know that something sinilar is posted else were but it seems daft its in "any other kinds of shooting"
Cranfield
Welcome wez and thanks for the post. The other similar thread is posted in, " Other Types Of Shooting" as it is subheaded, " anything remotely linked to shooting goes here". However, "General Banter" is subheaded, " Talk about things other than Shooting....". So, perhaps its not so daft as you thought.
wez
No its not daft, Just would be nice if this was a sticky everywhere! Only takes a minute and lets face it if we can't shoot anymore without massive restrictions the forum will be a rather different place! It will be due to apathy (or more charitably, people not being aware of it) that we will loose our ability to carry on the sport we all enjoy. If everyone who shoots is not aware of this, something is wrong at our end. Sorry to be doom and gloom but just look at all the other stuff Blunket is doing at the moment, Cheif Inspectors being axed, Bicester imigrant camps being given the go ahead even though it was rejected at planning.... this has been against the tide of opinion, just think about how far he will go if there is no objections and only support by people who would rather see all country sports banned! The Sniper
Cranners, I knew what you meant. Wez, Cranfield was not referring to your post being daft. It was where you put it on the forum that was !! You entered it under the section " General banter " which is primarily for anything NOT to do with shooting. Possibly you should have included it under Other types of shooting. Welcome to the forum.
Cranfield
OK wez, I gave you a fair chance and enough clues. NOW: 1. Go to "Other Types of Shooting" 2. Look at the top thread (which you will note is "a Sticky"). 3. Note date of thread. 4. Read thread carefully. OK ?

wez
OK forget it.... The idea of banning: ALL semi auto and pump action shotguns ALL semi auto .22 rimfires Making you show JUST CAUSE to own a shotgun, effectively making it as difficult to get a shotgun certificate as for a FAC centerfire rifle. Got a shotgun? Ask yourself if you could get a licence for a .243 centerfire; No? Well don't expect to keep your shotgun! Clearly does not make you want to put your BASC post as a sticky to every forum. Oh and this is about "other than shooting" or it soon will be! Cranfield
wez, I think you are missing the point. We are concerned, most of us will have made our feelings known, but we don,t need the BASC post as a "sticky", on every Forum on PigeonWatch. wez
Oh OK then. You written in to your MP and the comittee?
Cranfield
Yes, my MP is Michael Howard and as well as writing to him, I also spoke to him at Lympne Primary School Fete, two weeks ago. Like many others on here, I am a member of the BASC, CA and attended the Countryside March. But some of us approach things a bit calmly and don,t run around like Chicken Little.
