Vulcha
Hi I was thinking of getting a silencer for my BSA Supersport. I don't know if it will make much differance. If anyone has used a silencer in their springer what was the reduction like? Thanks
jordan
they improve it a little but you still have the crack of the spring

roblade
hi vulcha, silencers do make a big difference when fitted to a spring gun! i found this out when shooting my old stingray XS at the club next to a standard stingray, there was a big difference when i gave it to someone else to shoot and standing beside them both the XS was a lot quieter! another very worthy thing sping guns deserve is a good tune up to smooth the action out, once i had this done it was a very quiet rifle to take into the field! if you have a local gunsmith who can do it should cost about £30-50 failing that you can get the hme une kits from venom, oif you mechanically minded or even send the rifle to venom yourself and get them to do all the work for you. you would be amazed at the difference in shooting a tuned gun from venom to a standard one much more consistant and much less noise from the spring. hope this helps you out a litle ROB

bennyblanco
the bsa silencer for the supersport is a bit pants, the one on the lightning is much better, also if someone can confirm the adaptor on the end of the supersport is 1/2" unf, sako make a long and very light silencer for rimfires, i had one on my longbow and was impressed @£30. i would probably go for the lightning one as long as its not too much £, do not get the supersport specific one! Vulcha
Do they sell a lightening silencer on its own?
bennyblanco
ask them when you order the trigger i'm sure they do, one of the airgun mags converted a supersport into a lightning a few months back. shortened the barrel to 10" ans added silencer and maxi grip scope rail, they are very helpfull on the phone mate
