nav54
Why is it during the week the weather is spot on cloudy good wind blowing then as soon as the weekend gets here the forcast is virtually sod all wind bright and sunny not the best for roost shooting. anser2
Had my second roost shoot of the year. The weather was calm and sunny . There were far fewer pigeons about compaired with last week and a lot less shooting from the other woods. 11 in the bag , but the few birds i saw were very wary . All the 18 shots i had were at extream range birds. A mate and i had about 140 birds on 3 mornings decoying on rape , but the birds were hard to find. On Friday we saw 6-800 over 2 fields at first light , but they quickly moved on and a mid morning tour around 15 rape fields scattered across the 7,000 acres i shoot showed very few pigeons. Indeed the whole countryside seemed devoid on them. I have heard of some big bags being made localy over cut cover crops ( one farmer and a friend had 600 last weekend in mid Norfolk over cut maze).
