Blackpowder
Just looking out the window here in the Scottish Borders 12: 25 and not a breath of wind, clock calm, scarce a leaf is stirring in the witch preventing rowan. Curses it has been gales and blizzards all week, some good weather for roost shooting, birds ito wood early. Our Club roost shoots by invitation from Estates in Berwickshire and Northumberland for a ten week period starting on the first Saturday in February. These are known as Charity Shoots as part of the prioceeds from the sale of birds goes to a charity nominated by our hosts in rotation. We 've heard of rain dances, any members know a good wind dance, and I mean one unrelated to an overindulgence in beans. Blackpowder. Cranfield
The Charity Shoots ideas is a good one, especially as it gives you that amount of access. We need the windy overcast afternoons for a good roost shoot down here, but we don't need the rain that seems to accompany such a day.
