halowa
A couple of questions guys - When birds are put to the woods at 7 weeks old - 1. What should I use to clean plastic drinker, I know you can get stuff from suppliers (it seems expensive) but can you get a similar thing from supermarkets etc? 2. In my pens the feeders are fixed to trees, I move them every couple of years but is there something you can put underneath on the ground? What and where do you get it from? I am sure I have heard of people using lime. Is that right?
Devon Fox
Hi, on the game farm we use Vircon on the drinkers, and we clean/dip every day upto the day they are shipped out, around feeders and drinkers we sprinkle stellasand i think its called, which kills off most bacteria and bugs. catroofel
vircon every time in a bucket with some water and a scourer pad. we normally do it about 1 week before they are due to go in though and then a rinse again on the day. lampa
I used to use sodium hypochlorite mixed with fresh clean water, We had a big tank of the solution and feeders and drinkers were left to soak then scrubbed and then rinsed thoroughly with plenty of fresh water. Never had any problems apart from bleaching your clothes! and was relatively inexpensive at the time.
