ironhorse
In my early days of shooting there wasn’t such a thing as a bouncer, they didn’t come along in force until the early 80s, what I used to use was a length of straight hazel 6 ft brought to a sharp point, I then forced the length through the back of a deady up through the body until the point reached the head, then cut a shorter piece of hazel the length of the pigeon wing span, point both ends and pass through the body, just below the wings then force the points into the wing joints. Worked well.

charlie 1
used to do the same here before i bought a bouncer, it was annoying having to go and look for a good size length etc so i then decided on buying a bouncer. but the make shift ones work just as well
Teknys
Yes they do work, but every time the wind blew they would spin on the stick and end up flying on their backs. But until I found a 6ft length of 5mm square bar thats what I had to use.

deny essex
My old bouncer used to be quite flexable when first used but now stiffening up after many years use, but she still cooks the dinner !
