Anthony.D
I've been looking for a new gun but most stocks are too low for me. I know I should get a gun that fits, I seem to like all the ones that don't! Litts, newport suggested bending the stock too fit. Someone suggested Teague, I contacted them and they said no problem. I was happy with this as their reputation is so good. Then a friend said there is always a possibility it will bend back to normal. Has anyone had a similar problem and had a stock bent, was it successful long term? Anthony
Gordon R
Side by side stocks are easier to bend, but both can creep back a little. Get a gun with an adjustable stock. It will solve your cast and comb height problems all in one go.
Andy W
I agree with Gordon, I got an adjustable comb to give me the required cast and an adjustable heel plate to give me the height on my MK38, fits like a glove and fits only me, no one else can shoot with it, just goes to show how different we all are. clayman
If you heat bend a stock it will slowly revert. Better to build the comb up, or buy an adjustable comb stock for it ( or have yours modified). The Beartooth neoprene comb raising system is a relatively cheap and neat way of testing out what you need before spending loads on mods, or just keep it in place. They come in three colours, black, brown or camo, and with foam inserts to raise the comb from 3mm to 30mm. You can also glue mouse mats material as a roll over, or use rubber saddle type comb raisers. Clayman
