Elma Fud
Went out to a local pig farm to shoot rooks with a friend yesterday. Everything was going well until a cartridge failed to eject. The gun then only fired single shots and would not cycle the next cartridge. I stripped down the action to find that my piston had shattered and that the gas assembly was cracked. It would appear from the damage that the gas assembly cracked first as there was a build up of coke from spent cartridges on the base of the threaded sleeve. This inturn shattered the piston. All of us that shot the A391 please strip down and check your gas assembly valve. The one that you need the two keys to undo the two locking nuts infront of the spring. The threaded part underneath the spring is what I believe failed. Push the threaded part through the gas cylinder. The bottom of this threaded sleeve comes in contact with the piston. I will take the semi auto to my local gunshop to get fixed tomorrow. When they get the parts in is anyones guess? One question that I would like to ask Has this happened to anyone else. Tony
How many time must I tell you? Don't use your gun for hammering in fence posts!!! Seriously though, you have my sympathies. Any news from the gunsmiths? I have just cleaned my 391 and gave it a good once over but all seems well.

Elma Fud
got my shotty back from GMK. They replace all the gas parts at no cost to myself Talking with the gunshop, they said that the GMK Rep. had never heard of A391 breaking like that. Thats just sums up my luck..... :yp: Went out yesterday and shot 31 rooks with no mishaps
Cranfield
Thats a good result for you and credit to GMK, for sorting it out for free. :yp: Its strange that people have had mixed responses from GMK in the past, when they have had Beretta problems. Perhaps they have smartened up their act.
Salopian
Cranfield, I note your comment on GMK service, speaking personally I have only ever had good (excellant) service. But if you want fantastic service at reasonable cost you need look no further than John Wiseman at Wiseman's of Cannock.
