Si-Bore
I have noticed that the pigeon seemed to have moved off my usual patches of rape and gone elsewhere. I even saw some feeding on spring barley for the first time on another farm. Anyone noticed this? A change in targeted crops? Si
anser2
I expect they are moving onto the spring drillings Si. Give them time and they will come back to the rape providing its not too high.
nav54
like said mate they have problay found spring drillings to go on pigeons dont normally like rape all that much to feed on because it fements in the crops but sometimes there is nothing else to go at and they can feed so quickly on it that they just go for it. go out with some binos and have a good scout around u should find some remember though look in the sky as much as on the fields. henry d
The weed seeds are also sprouting ATM and I`ve seen good numbers on potatoe fields, which are mud, stalks and weed sprouts. The birds, up here, are moving off the brassicas and feeding on stubbles again as the frosts have gone now.
Si-Bore
Had a drive out this morning to purely observe but there were none about. I am going to shoot a patch of set aside that seems to be a good all round bet for the woodies. Hope they are there tomorrow! Si
