new to the flock
A guy who lives at Round Lake (50 miles South of Yorkton) saw a ball bouncing around kind of strangely in the lake and went to investigate. It turned out to be a flathead catfish who had obviously tried to swallow a basketball which became stuck in its mouth!! The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive, but unable to because the ball would always bring him back up to the surface. The guy tried numerous times to get the ball out, but was unsuccessful. He finally had his wife cut the ball in order to deflate it and release the hungry catfish. You probably wouldn't have believed this, if you hadn't seen the following pictures...

Sten Ch
"You probably wouldn't have believed this, if you hadn't seen the following pictures... " Unbelievable! Yes, it's good to have the camera handy when things like that happen. Reminds me of the rabbit I wrote about in an earlier tread called "Bagged rabbit". It jumped into a plastic bag when it was flushed by my cocker and bounced away with the plastic bag around its chest. Nobody would have believed it if I had not had my camera in my hands. SAVAGE HMR
I don't think that was a Catfish, in fact I think it was none other than the not so infamous Rik Waller! After winning Pop Idol then releasing his cover of the Dolly Parton classic "I Will Always Love You" in March 2002 he slumped in to a deep deep depression. He comfort ate his way to an amazing 43 stones and at his lowest point decided to turn his back on his career as a 'Pop Idol' and followed his true calling in life. To live in a pond sifting through silt for tasty morsels of food. But as you can see Rik's eyes have yet again proved beyond all reasonable doubt that they are bigger than his stomach. I hope this clears up any doubt that the above pictures were of a Catfish. It's Rik Waller, trust me.
