vole
I use Hushpower sg for daytime shooting. They,ve all been f/c which I find ok for rabbit, squirrel but not so good for flying quarry. Is there a reason s/b guns are full choke ? Any reason not to have it reduced to 1/4 ? Thanks very much. Dunkield
Cost maybe, just one barrel to make? Make it FC and then if you don't want that you can pay to have it opened up, easier than trying to restict it if they made it 1/4 and you wanted 3/4's for instance. Big_Sam
With the hushpowers they need to be fully choked to stop the shot hitting the silencer baffles. I suppose the reasoning was that a gunsmith could open it up to what you need, adding choke is much harder. Zapp
There was an article in sporting gun not long ago where a guy was using a fully hushed 1/2 choke barrel AL391 so I dont see any reason why they have to be full choke. drut
Hi: My Pedrettii 12g hushpower is opened up to 1/4 choke & works fine. The passage through the baffles had to be opened up to cater for this but AFAIK is OK standard for down to 1/2 . I use mine nearly exclusively so it made sense for me as I could not come to terms with the full choke: either missed or couldn't eat it. Regards:D.R. vole
Thanks guys.I had been given mixed messages about opening the chokes of my hushpower from different gunsmiths but if it works for real than thats good enough for me.
