funkymonkey
Hi All, Been following this forum for only a few weeks. must admit i am a little sheepish posting as i am only a mere bsa lightning owner and dont shoot a whole lot as i dont have any land to shoot on. Although i am getting more and more keen on finding some for a spoke of vermin control,, Anyway thats another matter. what i was wondering is what you guys do with your rabbit skins ?? I am training my 1 year old choc lab, and cured rabbit skins are great for getting them used to picking up fur etc,, so i wanted to know if any of you chaps fancied sending any to bedfordshire ?? and if any of you know how or who or what i can do to find some pest control around beds, I would be more than greatful for a few tips. Thanks all and happy shooting, Andy ps,, sorry about spelling of title, cant seem to find where to change the spelling,, doh Edited March 7, 2008 by funkymonkey

Since joining the forum here I got my shotguns, but the weather has been rubbish and I have not had a chance to fire them yet so I know the feeling mate! funkymonkey
thanks all, If the skins are dried out and salted, they last ages,,, as in months and months as long as they are not allowed to get wet too often, Ive got one at home that i bought when he was tiny, so thats prob 6 months old and thats still going fine. tomclay
hi dont need to cure skins. just skin rabbits and wash any blood off you can use the gentle cycle on washing machine. then peel of layer of fat use blunt knife or fingers - should peel of withought to much difficulty. tom p.s. dont fierce skin with knife
