LEFTY478
Paypal account log-in: your account is normally the e-mail address you used to set up the account. The page the link takes you to includes a 'forgot your password' link. If you have an account, you'll no doubt have a shed load of e-mails from them, regularly spamming you with 'special' offers. If not, then you probably never completed the account set up. Assuming you have an account and can get access to your a/c details, you should be able to add your card's details. It maybe that your card expiry date needs to be up dated.
bob300w
Are you sure that you did not complete the process last time? If you put a password in last time, even if you did not complete the sign up, you will need to use this to further the joining proces, if you can't remember it ,use the forgotten password process, they will email it to you. GamezBond
I think what its trying to say is that since you already have a paypal account, you should log in, and buy using your paypal account, and not purchased by entering your credit card details. paypal will also take the money from your card but i think your card must be the same one regsitered with paypal. If you intention is to NOT use your paypal account and purchase only using a card, then the only way may be that you have to use another card, or someone elses!! Please correct me if I have misunderstood. HTH

Methinks you should have not ticked the "do you want to receive details of special offers.... etc" button, I have been with them for 5 years and had no emails at all that I can remember. Go into "your account" and untick it.

tiercel
Pav, From the paypal help pages: To close your PayPal account, go to your Profile. If you close your account, all your outstanding transactions will be cancelled immediately, and your remaining account balance, if any, will be posted to you. Here's how: Log in to your PayPal account. Click the Profile subtab. Click the Close Account link in the Account Information column Follow the steps provided. GamezBond
This is the case GB easiest way round is to use a different card etc as if you didnt have an account. or use your partners card or tell the seller that paypal is not allowing you to make payments, and ask him if he would accept NOCHEX or google checkout etc. A lot of them do accept these. I left paypal few years back when they try to pull a fast one on me. Absolutely hate them. But if you really need to use them then use a different card etc, or even use a friends paypal account to pay for the item and just pay him/her in case. Jimbo57
But remember that if anything goes wrong with your purchase and the shop does not put it right, then you will get an immediate refund if you have paid by Paypal while it will probably take months to sort out if you paid direct by credit card. I bought a £450 television on Ebay and paid by Paypal. The TV arrived broken and the vendor denied any responsibility. Paypal refunded my money within 10 days. It's a good service as long as you service it with your credit card and not your bank account. Jim
