Millomite
Was out training with the dogs this morning. Gave Amber two retrieves in longish grass/brambles and she came back straight away sitting and holding it, albeit facing away but I'm working on that. Tried a third one over a bit of gorse so it was a blind. She went out, found it and enter the gorse and wouldn't come out. I tried walking away calling her etc. In the end I ended up squeezing into the gorse to get the dummy which she had started to bury. I thought we had gotten over this as she did it a bit last September, coincidentally when she was last in season. Has this potentially got any linkage? garyb
Funny you say that Scott.. I've had the exact same trouble with my Cocker bitch... and Infact there is an article in either this month's Sporting Shooter or Sporting Gun (I forget which) all about exactly this. From memory they reccomend two steps to remedy the behavouir... If you don't have a copy of the mag I could scan and upload ?! I've been doing some training in a long hallway, so all she can do is come back to me, but once out in the open it all goes wrong again Edited March 19, 2008 by garyb

gdunc
I'll bet it's related to her season coming - all part of the nest making, provision hiding instincts. Worth correcting though
